SCOTIA, NY – July 28, 2007.  Over 130 cadets completed a week long encampment which included classes, drill, physical training, model rocketry and a ride on either a Cessna 182 or one of the ANG C-130 aircraft.  Today they all marched into the base’s main hanger, site of the graduation ceremonies, in front of their parents, friends and senior instructors.  The cadets were led into graduation by the encampment cadet commander, Cadet Lt Col Charlsie Brooks and the cadet command staff officers.

The master of ceremonies at the graduation was Captain Scott Gardner.  After remarks by the Encampment Commander, Major Randy Anger and the Cadet Commander Brooks, cadets and parents were treated to a speech by a special guest, Major General Robert A. Knauff, USAF, Chief of Staff of the New York Air National Guard.  Gen Knauff also assisted the New York Wing Commander, Col Ken Andreu, in presenting Special Awards to the encampment’s finest participants.
 
Following the award ceremony, the cadets passed in review of the spectators and assembled in formation on the base runway.  They reported in, presented the colors and then marched out of the area.  After graduation the cadets gathered with their family and friends at the base mess hall where they out-processed and took a few final pictures before leaving for home, most vowing to return in 2008.
